Vintage Santa

Hello and Happy Friday, everyone!  It’s TaeEun here today, sharing a holiday card with you. Effie has designed an ingenious set of layering stencils for your holiday crafting – the Vintage Santa Layering Stencils! With this stencil set, you can effortlessly create an A2-sized image of Santa!

I chose to stencil Santa in traditional holiday colors. Placing the panel on the Grip Mat makes the stenciling much easier! For the Jacket, gloves and hat, I used Lipstick Red and Wine. To achieve a soft skin tone, I used one color – soft Cream. I blended the first layer of the skin very lightly and the second layer with a heavy hand. You can find the small facial details in three stencils . I used Noir for the eye lines, Parisian Blue for the eyes, and Warm Hazelnut for the dark shade of the nose. The beard’s shadow was stenciled in Moonlight. Finally I ink blended the background in Parisian Blue and Violet Fringy.

To add an extra touch, I left the stencil for the background on the panel and splattered white opaque ink over it. Once the panel was completely dry, I cut it using the largest die from the Double Pierced A2 Nested dies set and adhered it to a white cardbase.

For seasonal elements, I placed an oval frame on the card, which was cut using the Double Pierced Oval coverplate die. I ink blended the oval frame in Violet Fringe. To the oval frame, I adhered a purple poinsettia stenciled using the Poinsettias Unlocked Layering Stencils in Soft Amethyst, Iris Blooms, and Grape Crush. 

The sentiment is from the Ribbons Holiday set. The first part of it was stamped in Violet Fringe, and the second part was heat embossed in gold. To cut the sentiment, I used the coordinating die. I stamped the “CHRISTMAS” in Violet Fringe using a stamp from the Good Tidings stamp set and added it to the Ribbons Holiday sentiment. 

To add a bit of sparkle, I arranged six Dark Purple Opaque rhinestones on the frame and two Emerald Green Opaque rhinestones in the center of the poinsettia.
