Spring 2016 Release – Day 1

Screen Shot 2016-04-03 at 6.15.31 PM

Welcome to Day 1 of our Spring 2016 Release!!  I am so excited that this day is finally here!  This release is a bit of a doozy because I could not stop designing and I’m too impatient to withhold the designs for a later release.  So with that said, we have 22 new stamps (clear and cling) and several new Couture Mixes and sequin colors to show you throughout the week!  For today, we’re revealing five stamps.  All new products will be available for immediate purchase on Thursday, April 7 at 7am (EST).

We also have some daily giveaways so make sure you reach the bottom of the post for more details on this.

For our Gilding debut today, we have two new Couture Mixes and two new sequins colors.

Now for STAMPS!! We are showcasing two layering sets and three sentiment sets today.

Fresh Cut Tulips Water

Fresh Cut Tulips, 6×8 Clear Stamp Set

Our Fresh Cut Tulips feature three tulip blooms, two leaves and a stem that are three steps each and one dainty vase.  I based the design of this set on “broken” or “viral” tulips (google it!).  I wanted to introduce a sexier and unique tulip to the crafting world so I couldn’t resist designing these.  As usual, our Fresh Cut Tulips will come with a color printed layering guide 🙂

Our next featured set is our Hello Hummingbird!

Hello Hummingbird Water

Hello Hummingbird, 4×6 Clear Stamp Set

Our new Hello Hummingbird is a seven step stamp set.  I was a little anxious about designing this one because birds are a little out of my comfort zone.  However, I decided to just go for it and love the final results!  This stamps set will also come with a color printed layering guide.

Next up are our three new sentiment sets: Basic Labels, Family Labels and Basic Sentiments.  I wanted to design some staple sentiment sets with classic fonts for our collection that could be used for any papercrafting occasion.

First up is Mayline’s hummingbird card. Her color combination on these birds is just stunning. They look like they’re sparkling!

Keeway’s next hummingbird card is dreamy and colorful!  Her choice of soft colors are always spot on.  The florals you see in the background will debut tomorrow (so stay tuned)!

Next up is my card! I gold heat embossed the second layer of the body of our hummingbird on some white cardstock.  Then I stamped the focal hummingbird with our Couture Color Inks (Cocoa Collection, Soft Garden, Bright Fern, Hollywood Star and Cosmopolitan Pink) on separate cardstock.  Next, I colored in the bird’s eye with a black pen.  Then I fussy cut the little guy and popped it up on the center of our heat embossed panel.  Next I gold heat embossed the sentiment on a banner which  I created from black cardstock.  Then I arranged the die cut flowers and foliage which was stamped from our Mini Wild Florals around my banner.  I trimmed my embossed panel and adhered it onto a side folding black cardbase.  I finished off the card with a mix of our Glass Slippers sequins.

Emily took a different but striking approach to her hummingbird in this card.  The stark black hummingbird against the bright blue background is beautiful!

Vera’s next card playful and pretty with her pastel colors for her hummingbird card.

Ruby’s hummingbird card is abstract and beautiful. I love the matching ombre lattice die cut in the background and the partial die cutting technique that Ruby used to create some serious interest!

Eunji’s next card is artful and gorgeous with her watercolor backsplash and popped up hummingbird.

Jess’s hummingbird card is modern and graphic as she propped her bird up against a stark black and white Peony Garden print.

Next up is another card I made using our Hello Hummingbird set and Morning Glory Garden Background Stamp.  First I heat embossed the morning glory stamp on vellum with gold glitter embossing powder.  Then I colored behind the vellum with copic markers and adhered the panel onto a side folding white cardbase.  I then stamped my hummingbird with the same recipe as my previous card (above) on separate cardstock and fussy cut the bird.  Next I popped the bird up onto my vellum panel. Next, I stamped the sentiment with our Cosmopolitan Pink Hybrid Ink and accented the sentiment flag with our Gold Glitter Adhesive Paper.  I adhere the gold paper and sentiment flag together and popped it all up onto my panel.

Emily’s choice of cool tones for her hummingbird is beautifully offset by her pretty ruby roses!

Jessica’s next tulip card is bright, pretty and artfully arranged!  The blending within the vase just adds a nice finished touch to the entire project.

Ruby’s next card takes our Fresh Cut Tulips to another level with her watercoloring technique!

Next up is my card where I repeatedly masked the tulips to stamp the entire panel.  I started from the bottom to the top of the panel in various collection of inks (Peach Blossom, Coralline and Coral Cavern; Ruby Collection; Peony Collection; Orchid Collection; Crystal Garden Collection). Then I die cut the panel using the largest dies in our Stitched Rectangle dies.  I gold heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock, fussy cut the sentiment, then popped it up with foam tape.  Lastly, I adhered some sequins (Light Citrine, Call Me Maybe Red, Creme Brûlée) to my panel to finish the card.

Mayline’s soft DIY text background contrasts her bright tulip so perfectly!

Eunji’s watercolored tulip is bold and striking!

For my last card, I repeatedly stamped the closed tulips to create a field of tulips on my panel.  I used our Peony and Crystal Garden Collection Inks to stamp the panel. The sentiment is from a set which will debut tomorrow. I did stamp the sentiment with our Cosmopolitan Pink ink.  Next, I trimmed the top portion of the panel to create a thin window where I adhered some silver glitter tape (which was adhered onto the cardbase).  Lastly, I added some Glass Slipper sequins to polish off the card.

Eunji’s last card is colorful and bright with her boxed arrangements and Family labels.
